Investment Scams: Report a Scam

Have you unfortunately become a victim of an investment scam? This can be a really stressful time for people, and often it’s difficult to know where to turn to for help. A really helpful place to start is The Australian Competition and Consumer Commissions (ACCC) website. The ACCC website provides a form where you can report any of the scams that have been mentioned in our investment scam blog series. You can find an easy link to the form below.

As we mentioned in this blog series, many of the scammers are operating from overseas, so your report may be forwarded onto overseas government agencies for law enforcement purposes. You also may be contacted by the ACCC if any extra information is required.

If you think you have been the victim of an investment scam, there are useful links here, which can guide you on where you can get help, depending on the type of scam you have been involved in.

While you can report a scam to the ACCC, they are unable to help you recover your financial losses resulting from the investment scam.  If you wish to recover your financial losses, and the scam occurred within Australia within the last 6 years, get in contact with us at Financial Rescue, as we may be able to help you recover lost money.
